Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a fertility treatment that involves placing sperm inside a woman’s uterus to facilitate fertilization. The goal is to increase the number of sperm that reach the fallopian tubes and improve the chance of fertilization.

IUI gives sperm a head start but still requires natural fertilization. It is less invasive and less expensive than in vitro fertilization (IVF). Common reasons for IUI include low sperm count or decreased sperm mobility.
